STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS

Dr. Munnecke has over 25 years of experience in the fields of industrial and environmental microbiology. He has worked in government (EPA and German Government), industry (both Fortune 50's and start ups), and university positions, as well as consulted for industry and international organizations (WHO, United Nations). Trained as a microbiologist, he has several patents on the use of microbial processes for environmental applications, has managed teams of scientists which developed industrial enzymes based on recombinant technology, and has been active in biotechnology development for environmental applications both in the United States and Europe.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

• Management of the EPRI ABATE Program which provides support for biotechnology assessment, development and application to utility industry needs.
• Supervision of technology development programs involving biodegradation of high molecular weight alkanes, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, and nitroaromatics.
• Business development activities focused on developing industrial and governmental contract support for technology development projects.
• Bioprocess development and technology transfer to engineered systems.
