EBT Drilling Recommendations

Environmental BioTechnologies (EBT) in partnership with a Canadian oil company has conducted geochemical surveys on 3.2 million acres in Canada, (to see our coverage please see EBT's page on multi-client survey coverage). EBT has compiled a list, from governmental sources and the Nickle's Daily Oil Bulletin, of exploratory wells that were drilled after our MET surveys were completed (see our technology description of MET surveys). Although some of the wells can now be considered development wells, they are judged as exploratory wells because the survey over that particular area was conducted prior to field development. The results for the wells in our database are obtained from government reports and are not necessarily economical wells if they are reported as a completed gas or oil well. Three classifications are used in ranking wells. The first classification is Recommended. It is our intent is to recommend well sites that have a high probability of success. These sites generally have a rating above 45% PS. EBT recognizes that non recommended sites will also be successfully completed. It is EBT’s experience that MET, non recommended, exploratory well sites are completed 10% of the time. Wells ranked in the 40%-45%PS range are called Potential drill sites, which, if confirmed by other exploration data, would be recommended locations. Wells ranked below 40% PS are considered Low potential sites, where completion is expected less than 10% of the time. The wells are listed by meridian and we provide the % Probability of Success (%PS), our recommendation, the result of the drilling, and the company that drilled the well. For an explanation of how we derive the %PS please visit our drilling success page.

This list will be updated periodically, so check back to see if EBT has rated your new wells.
