Environmental BioTechnologies, Inc. (EBT) is a biotechnology company that focuses on the development and application of biological based products, processes, and services for the industrial and environmental markets. EBT has successfully developed technologies for bioremediation of soils and groundwater contaminated with total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). We have developed the following packages that can be purchased to support site remediation:

  • Landfarming Package: For ex-situ, or shallow in-situ (<2 ft. bgs) bioremediation of soil contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, and crude oil.
  • Bioventing/Biosparging Package: For in-situ treatment of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater. Soil Washing/Biopolishing Package: For the ex-situ or in-situ washing/flushing of soils contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons.
  • Soil washing can be followed by a biopolishing step for biodegradation of any residual petroleum hydrocarbons remaining after soil washing.
  • Fungal Degradation Package: For the ex-situ biotreatment of soils contaminated with PAHs.
EBT's product packages have been designed based on our experience gained through conducting many laboratory treatability studies and following results of field remediation projects. Product packages can be custom designed to include the following:
  • Biotechnology Selection: EBT will aid in selection of the most appropriate technology for the contaminated site, or you may purchase EBT's "Evaluation of Bioremediation for Site Specific Applications" document and do it yourself. Please look at our example of the information provided in this document and how it can be used as a definitive guide to bioremediation technologies and their uses.
  • Site Characterization: EBT will conduct laboratory bioparameter analyses to characterize the concentration of the contaminant, determine the nutrient concentrations (N and P), the microbial population and the pH of the contaminated material. We will also determine if the indigenous microbes will respond to nutrient supplements.
  • Process Design: EBT will design the selected bioprocess and provide the necessary information for implementation of the process in the field.
  • Nutrient Amendments/Materials: EBT will recommend and/or provide the appropriate bioproducts, nutrients, surfactants, etc. required for application in the field.
  • Technical Field Support: EBT will support and/or manage the field operations for a bioremediation project.
  • Monitoring of Field Project: EBT can monitor the progress of a biotechnology program by conducting bioparameter analyses on the contaminated material during the course of the project and arranging for sample collection and analysis.
All product packages are designed and priced individually according to project requirements.
